A koala bear (Phascolarctos cinereus) clings to a eucalyptus tree in eastern Au stralia. Koalas have large feet, each having five toes, two of which are oppos able to the other three. Koalas are found only in eucalyptus forests of easter n Australia. The animal is lethargic and often remains in the same tree for days. Koalas sl eep curled up on the limbs of trees, firmly grasping the limbs with their feet. The animal does not relax its hold even when it is mortally wounded. |
